
All 32 different buildings used to create the city share one 8K texture map, divided into 256x256 textures. So all trees, etc use the same texture..
Particles rendered with GPU particle renderer Fury2.14.

Yes it is Octane and Fury 2 for particles (still in beta for Softimage/Maya). It was pretty much a test to see how largescale geometry Octane could handle, and if using one texture for everything was a good idea or a bad one. I ran into alot of precision problems with Octane when the model got too big, and triangle/waveform patterns started to arrise. Unfortunately Octane still crashes after every frame I rendered on my new 670 cards (also a test in production LOL), so I ended up using a mouse recorder to get frames out the door..gabrielefx wrote:this is octane?
