price performance wise: 4x 590s get about 30ms, and cost about 400 euros a peace, that`s 1600,-.

ofcourse there are other advantages, vram, power usage, but budget designers will have to choose i think

EVGA Geforce TITAN superclocked- Octane 1.11 - Pathtracing: 6.78 Ms/sec.
NVIDIA Geforce GTX 590 Octane 1.11 - Pathtracing: 6.76 Ms/sec.

Quite crappy considering it costs more than twice the price...

For me one Titan would be cool enough. Just in case if there are heavy scenes flying in. But I can wait a bit until the price of a Titan drops to 70 percent in a couple of months :)

So what comes after the Titan ladys and gentleman?

What is really crazy is the rising of VRam of gaming cards during the last 2 years.
Before, the VRam was always up to 2 GB. No big changes for multiple years.
Then there was the 580 with 3GB followed by the 680 with for and the Titan with 6GB.
That sets a new standart for VRam consumption.

At least you have more RAM :)

Question: why do you post the performance of the cards summed together?
It makes everything more confusing, and there is loss of information.

I beleive one should post the performance of each individual card, they should add up to the correct value, when summed all together.

1.10 vs. 1.11
GTX 680 + GTX Titan, both slightly OC

1.10:
DL: 32.81
PT: 8.30
PMC: 7.11

1.11:
DL: 38.11
PT: 9.17
PMC: 7.62

Especially in the DL kernel that's a massive jump...
