Typical Mac's there is nothing truly set in stone.

I upgraded to 10.13.2 (combo ) (17C89)

Cuda 387.99
Nvidia Web driver 378.10.10.10.25.103

I believe that is the latest and greatest of them all... and NOW... it launches with no errors but the 980 ti does not load.
(It was fine with 10.13.1... go figure)

I physically removed all old cuda entries uninstalled web driver and reinstalled new OSX, changed cards, cables the lot.

Still no go! So darn frustrating

I'm waiting for next upgrade to see what happens

MAC gotta love em hate em

I just tried out High Sierra on a test machine today for the first time. So far, so good.

I did have to do a little poking around on egpu.io for the latest NVIDIA GPU Support updater, since the one at the top of the thread is outdated. Here are some links that might be helpful.

https://egpu.io/macos-high-sierra-offic ... ernal-gpu/

One gotcha is that there are at least two different versions of the NVIDIA Mac web drivers out there that say they are for 10.12.3, but actually require slightly different OS builds. I needed v 102.
WebDriver-378.10.10.10.25.102.pkg
WebDriver-378.10.10.10.25.103.pkg

I also ran the NVDAEGPUSupport-V4.pkg. Please note that the filename is oddly spelled when you do a search for it on the forum.

So I tried to update to OS 10.13.2 and install the drivers kindly suggested by Giuseppe
that is versions "cudadriver_387.99_maco"s and "WebDriver-378.10.10.10.25.102"
and ... it didn't work

Then I additionally applied the egpu nvidia support 4 file as provided link by frankmci and ...

Bingo ! It is now working again !

My new os 10.13.2 now recognize the nvidia card and octane seems to run fine on Cinema4D r18 ...

So the lesson I got from this little story is this :
- No help from nvidia when i phoned them, their answer was :
You should ask apple, it's their fault, osx is not currently really supported by nviai products so we are not responsable towards you if it's not working.
- No help from apple : why do you even ask us, It's nvidia's fault, we do not support their products because it is not working properly, it's their driver ask them to work on it. No we cannot provide you with a previous version of Sierra, you should have back up with time machine, blame yourself...

The only help I really had was from Octane community !
So thank you guys !
