2.47 is cuda 4.0, 2.46b is either 3.0 and 3.2....therefore the scores for 2.47 are higher.colorlabs wrote:matej: that sounds fine, they claim they didn't change pathtracing code...
C'MON GUYS WE NEED MORE DATA POINTS! ESPECIALLY NON-GTX460 OWNERS!
Intel Core i7 980x @ 3,78GHz - Gigabyte X58A UD7 rev 1.0 - 24GB DDR3 RAM - Gainward GTX590 3GB @ 700/1400/3900 Mhz- 2x Intel X25-M G2 80GB SSD - WD Caviar Black 2TB - WD Caviar Green 2TB - Fractal Design Define R2 - Win7 64bit - Octane 2.57
Me bad! Didn't noticed thatcolorlabs wrote:Zay - are you talking about entry #3? That's two 470's!

But it would be nice if people also added if the card was OC and which driver was used.
Win 11 Pro | i5 12600K | 32GB ram | 2x GTX 1080Ti + 3080Ti - studio driver 560.94| Modo/Blender/ZBrush/Daz/Poser
That form is spammable
Win 7 64bits / Intel i5 750 @ 2.67Ghz / Geforce GTX 470 / 8GB Ram / 3DS Max 2012 64bits

The only problem with that is , what's the base line?
For example. My Gigabyte GTX460 is running at stock speed which is 715 Mhz
I know for a fact that some other makes of cards that run at stock speed are running at 675 MHz
There are of course quite a number of special cards out there that run at varying speeds above 675 Mhz.
So even if the user does not overclock their cards. They could all still be running at various speeds.
Not that a few Mhz here and there is going to make a huge amount of difference.

justed posted the result. just want to add that i used the testbuild 2.47 for the benchmark.

Thanks everyone so far!!
Looks like someone posted a GTX 560 with a speed of 5 Ms/sec. This is clearly a typo, at least I hope so or I bought the wrong card!
Could whoever posted this re-submit and make sure you enabled pathtracing mode in Octane?
Or if anyone else with a 560 wants to post theirs that would be appreciated! With that and a 590, a 480, and a 465 we'll have at least one of each!

You definitely did buy the right card.colorlabs wrote:Thanks everyone so far!!

I will post gtx590 results perhaps tomorrow. I think you shoud decide whether you want to people make the test with either 2.46 or 2.47, cause if they keep posting results from both versions, the conclusions will be flawed (as both releases differ in CUDA versions, which has significant impact on performance).

I've done the benchmark with 2.47 and I've entered my username in the form, so my entry can be removed.
I'm not sure about the significant performance gains with CUDA 4.0, tho. I haven't noticed much difference
