Use Octane VR with the lua scripts we are going to support in the ORBX Media format for hotspots, audio, compositing, shaders and interactivity.

But WHEN is the big question ? Any chance of a beta test version so I can get something ready to promote to my customers ?

Can you do a "traditional" dissolve effect between two cubemaps with orbx2?
It would be great if I have a VR comic and the viewer is stationary at one place but the actors in front position and expression just changes. Fade to black or other transition between renders would be too harsh, I think..

For the time being, you can use Pano2vr or krpano.
It should work with Gear VR

Orbx2 is just around the corner. Pano2vr and Krpano sounds interesting, to be sure, but I'll keep my focus on Otoys tools, just to limit the stuff on my to-do-lists.

Problem is using KRPano etx you're just using the GearVR like a cardboard. It's not using the gyro in the actual GearVR so the head tracking and movement is nowhere near as good.
