I bought V3 Standalone + Blender plugin a few months ago,

I read that V4 is free to license holders? But I also saw some weird changes about no more perpetual licenses?

Just wondering what I have to do to get access to V4, and what happens to my perpetual license, etc.

to upgrade for free your license from v3 to v4, you need to follow these steps:
About new licenses, please have a look at the FAQ page about different licenses options here:

one maybe silly question to licensing:
if I upgrade my licenses to octane 4, and it wont work with my environment (running octane 3 stable) – just in case:
can I "downgrade" back from octane 4 to octane 3 or still use the octane 3 version if needed?

kind regards

Looks like you can, I upgraded to Octane 4 and can still open up Octane 3.08 and it works.
