Hi,
I have 3x 980ti cards running in my workstation. While rendering i noticed that all of them have a very unregulary gpu usage. (see image)
i have "use priority" unchecked for all cards . What could be the reason and how can i fix it?
Cooling is also not the issue, I have two hybrid cards and the temps stay between 60-70°. We have a second Workstation aslo with 3x 980tis and they run smoth at 100%.
Thanks in advance.
GPU not running at 100%

Try maximum values for parallel samples and the one below that. Path tracing node.

I noticed the same thing, when I'm using Octane C4D plugin the gpu usage it's unregulary.
But something even more strange is that the performance of Octanebench 3.06.2 is far superior than OctaneC4Dplugin 3.06.2. It's normal? Steve

Parallel samples and max tile are available in path tracing kernel and in direct kernel too, see attached image.

No, the scene are different. Can I download the bench scene to try the difference in C4D?rrbarb wrote:Is the comparison of a c4d scene that is of the same size/Res/samples as that of the bench file?
Also, plugins have somewhat delayed feedback response, but usually end up the same count as Standalone.
./rrb
However the difference between the two is remarkable.
Sorry. But I can't remember parallel samples for PT in v3.0x because I don't use PT and I "love" PMC only.BorisGoreta wrote:Parallel samples and max tile are available in path tracing kernel and in direct kernel too, see attached image.

Hi,
I have make some tests with the same scene in C4D and Standalone and the difference of performance is remarkable.
Are there any solutions to improve the performance?
Thanks
Stefano

Hi Stefano,
what are the specs of your machine?
Are the same as your signature?
Can you share the scene used for testing?
ciao beppe
