Windows 10 x64
2x1080ti 11 GB Driver version 388.71
64GB RAM
Octane V4.0 RC4 R2
C4D Ver 20.028 Studio

When using the A.I. Denoise and rendering passes to single TIFFs it saves unwanted extra Renderings where it applies the activated Layermasks. So I get the Denoise Beauty, the Layermask and everything as it should, but also an extra A.I. Denoise Pass with the mask applied to it.
Here is an example of the rendered files, where I used layermasks for 2 objects:
renders.PNG
Here are the Rendersettings:
rendersettings.PNG

Its not a huge deal, but saving these unwanted extra images for every Frame seems unnecessary and also takes quite some time if you render out a few hundred frames.
Maybe I am missing something, but it only seems to do that for the the A.I Denoiser.

Just thought I let you know.
Keep up the good work!
Cheers..

Hi,
please, disable the old Render Layer mask passes, and try with the Object Layer Color pass:
viewtopic.php?f=9&t=62462&p=319218&hili ... or#p319218
In this way the mask passes are calucated during render, saving you a lot of time. The old Render Layer masks are calculated via c4d, and this takes more time.

Hi Beppe!

Thanks a lot for your reply!
I will give it a go!!

You don't happen to have a quick quide/tut or just a short hint as for how to use the colored passes in After Effects as track-mattes like i did with the old monochromatic object passes?
I have a vague Idea, but i'd love to hear from someone who seems to have done this before.

Thx again dude!

Have the same problem. The Object Layer Color pass is not something i prefer (not so nice edges). Is there a solution to just skip the "bonus" passes and keep black and white layer masks and denoised beauty pass? Thanks!

I use color passes un full channel colors, I only get 3 masks of full gray range but they do not produce any unwanted staircases on the edges. If you set each of the 3 possible passes one to full R, the other to full G and the other to full B, you get a RGB Image (a single one) that you can use un post as a color channel mask. In After effects use matte channel effect and just choose each individual channel depending on what you need.

cheers!
