Hi,

got a new system now. Win 7 / Octane 2.24.1 / Plugin 2.24.1 R1

First slot is an 780 with display connected,
second card is a 980 Ti and
third card is a 980 Ti too

This is how octane handle this in the settings and the LV.

Shouldn´t the 780 be the Gpu0? Not sure were the mistake is, because on the other hand the 780 is controlled by the Gpu0 settings...

In generell this works for me, but it is some kind of contra-intuitive

Thanks for working on this plugin, which works really great and stable!

Excuse me if the mistake is on my side! ;)

Best,

Chriz

Yes, it's written in wrong order. This happens on some setups and caused by vnapi and our sdk's uncompatibility.

The GPU order you see in Octane is what we get from the CUDA API. Until CUDA 6.5 there is no direct relationship between the device order and the real order. I think the plugin uses NVML to query device information, and with CUDA 7 there is probably a way (haven't tried it yet) to map CUDA devices to NVML devices. Version 3 will use CUDA 7, i.e. it will allow us to fetch additional information about the devices. I can say more when we have tried it.

Hi aoktar and abstrax!

Thank for that quick answers! :D

So i am glad, it has nothing to do with wrong settings on my system. Looking forward to V3!
