Pls read http://poserphysics.blogspot.com.au/2016/03/before-you-submit-octane-support.html prior to posting support issues.

NOTE 1: For users who experience a DAZStudio crash after upgrading to Octane 3 - deleting C:\Users\[username]\OctaneRender\Data\OctaneRender_settings.oczdb may resolve the issue.

NOTE 2: For users having an issue where the Save button is disabled if using the Final button - disable the Final button and in Render settings select the SuperScope (2:1) Size / aspect ratio and drag the Viewport height or width until you reach required resolution.

NOTE 3: For users having an issue where rendering an animation fails after 11 frames - make sure the DAZStudio viewport is visible when you render the animation.

NOTE 4: If Octane materials are not loading when you load a previously saved scene - tick Preferences->Load OctaneRender materials from .duf user presets. If ticking this option does not stick between DAZStudio restarts, delete OctaneRender_settings.oczdb as per NOTE 1 above.

This is the recommended thread for downloading, and posting any questions, suggestions or support queries for OctaneRender for DAZ Studio - TEST (ie. pre-release) and STABLE releases.

DAZ Studio Version
DAZ Studio 4.8 or later on Window Vista, 7, 8 or 10 64bit

Nvidia Driver Version
Nvidia drivers 392.x or later

Network Rendering
For Network Rendering, you must use the Octane slave release from the Octane Standalone installer which matches the exact Octane version of the plugin you are using.

If you have a support issue, pls provide the following information:
- Operating System (ie. Win XP, Vista, 7, 8)
- Amount of RAM
- Graphics Card(s) - model (ie. GTX 580, 3GB)
- Nvidia driver version
- DAZ Studio version
- OctaneRender for DAZ Studio version (ie. 2.24.2.1)

- The most important part of resolving a problem is me being able to re-produce that problem. So pls provide as much detail as possible in order for me to do this, and if the problem is specific to the scene, send me the scene.

- [UNTESTED] The "Replace All Active Maps" function now replaces Normal maps in addition to the other maps. Displacement maps are still not replaced
- The material conversion process will now allow both bump and normal maps to be used (whereas in the past if there was a normal map, the bump map would be ignored)
- Fixed issue where the standard SSS skin shader was not using the normal and bump maps in both materials in the material mix

3.4.0.26 (19-Oct-2016)
- Compiled with Octane 3.04

- Resolved issue where updates would stop being applied after pausing and resuming a render
- Potential fix to random crash when material picking
- Added code to attempt to catch the crash occurring when opening the Image Browser (or clicking the "..." button).
- Added "Authentication" button to the OctaneACM application to allow activating and deactivating the plugin
- Fixed issue where the resolution was incorrectly being set to 1024x512 when rendering animations
- Fixed issue where texturemaps name from Poser content would be lost when the scene is next loaded into DAZStudio

3.0.20.22 (24-May-2016)
- Compiled with Octane 3.00 (3.0.20)
- If you have ticked "Use offline licensing on this computer" when authenticating the plugin, you can now click the Deactive button in the OctaneACM.exe authentication utility if deactivate the offline authentication

3.0.15.21 (21-May-2016)
- Compiled with Octane 3 beta 4 (3.0.15).
- Animation motion blur is now working again. Use the current camera Motion Blur and Shutter Speed parameters to set this up. WARNING: Both these parameters can be animated, so make sure you go to frame 0 to set these up for the entire animation sequence. The plugin does NOT pickup the FPS from the DAZStudio Timeline - so you should set DAZStudio to Octane's default fps of 24.0 fps. Motion blur is also working when exporting to OCS via System->Alembic Export
- Changed the Message box in the System to Octane Log, which can now be copied into the clipboard
- Potential fix to random crash when material picking
- The plugin will still authenticate, even if no render GPU's are detected
- IMPORTANT: Because the resolution settings are now saved in a different node in Octane, resolution settings from scene saved with previous version of the plugin may behave differently. Pls report any issue you find.

3.0.12.20 (9-May-2016)
- Compiled with Octane 3 beta 1 (3.0.12).
- Fixed issue where render statistics were not being displayed when render region was enabled
- Added support for animation of deformers
- In some instances, a scene would fail to start rendering an animation. This appears to be in scenes without figures. In this situation the plugin would sit inactively until the user stopped the animation. The plugin now pops an erre dialog "Error Starting Animation" when this occurs. I still do no fully understand what situations lead to this problem.

3.0.10.19
- Compiled with Octane 3 alpha 10 (3.0.10). This means that Render Region is working again. Authentication panel is also removed.
- The new Octane 3 Alpha 10 pin for the Visible Environment is not current accessible via the plugin

3.0.6.18
- Additional fix to the Image Browser

3.0.6.17
- Fixed issue where the Image Browser was not working correctly when rending an animation
- Fixed issue where Geometry Shells were not being updated correctly

3.0.6.16
- Fixed issue where texture from IRay shaders were not being loaded into Octane materials correctly after re-loading a scene
- Fixed issue where not all GPU's were being enabled (problem introduced in 3.0.6.13).

3.0.6.15
- Further logging added to determine why all GPU's are not being enabled
- Fixed various OutOfCore Textures issues

3.0.6.14
- Removed the Save as Jpeg Quality slider from the Preferences tab (since it was not used)
- Removed Jpeg from the Animation tab Image Format combo box
- Added logging to determine why all GPU's are not being enabled

3.0.6.13
- Compiled with Octane 3 alpha 6 (3.0.6). Note the minimum Nvidia driver required is 353
- Octane 3 no longer supports GPU thottling, so the previous Priority system has been re-instated on the System tab

3.0.4.12
- Fixed issue where the installer was putting IES and HDR image maps into the incorrect folder

3.0.4.11
- Changed the ABC Exporter to also save to an OCS (the ABC filename with a .OCS extension) with an embedded ABC Scene with the Octane materials attached
- Double clicking an Octane Material in the Material tab no longer opens the Nodegraph Editor. Use the Nodegraph Editor button instead.
- You can no longer copy from the LiveDb and paste into an Octane material (ince it causes a crash). Instead use "Copy as new material"

3.0.4.10
- Compiled with Octane 3 alpha 4 (3.0.4)
- Change plugin tab name from "OctaneRender" to "Octane" as requested
* NOTE: Did not remove the "Save Unused Materials" dialogs that pops up when saving, because some users wanted it left in

3.0.3.9
- Added Cutout Opacity to the Template options

3.0.3.8
- Compiled with Octane 3 alpha 3
- Add manual page for Octane 3 features - https://docs.otoy.com/DazStudio/?page_id=1237
- Fixed bug where node names could not be changed in the NGE
- Reworked the display of the amount of VRAM being used, since the calculations were incorrect. Now only the VRAM numbers returned by Octane are displayed - and these should be accurate.

3.0.1.7
- Compiled with Octane 3 alpha 2.
- Suppressed "One or more GPU(s) seem to be degraded; probably because of a Nv Driver crash!" error message
- Removed the Save option "Export objects as mask images", since this functionality is now available from render passes
- Removed all saving to JPEG format options (since this was conflicting with Octane 3)
- Fixed the Materials tab Export function.
- Fixed random crash when material picking

* Rendering of VDB files - this is not currently supported in the DAZStudio plugin, and you will need to export your scene from the plugin as OCS/ORBX and import into Octane Standalone to render VDB files.
* Rendering via the Baking and Panoramic Cameras - this is not currently supported in the DAZStudio plugin, and you will need to export your scene from the plugin as OCS/ORBX and import into Octane Standalone to with these cameras. For the Baking camera, you can set the Baking Group Id in the DAZStudio plugin - under the OctaneRender options for the figure/mesh.

3.0.0.6
- Compiled with Octane 3.0.0
- Added Medium and Medium Radius to the Daylight and Texture Environment settings
- Added new Render Passes
- Removed "Ambient" and "Sample Environment" GI Modes from the Direct Light kernel
- Added Deep Image settings to the kernel settings
- Changed UVW Projection to Mesh UV Projection and changed Linear Projection to XYZ to UVW Projection in the NGE

* If your default rendertarget has Render Passes->Info After Beauty ticked, I suggest unticking it and re-saving your default rendertarget

2.24.2.5
- Fixed Alembic Export dialog end frame number reporting the wrong frame
- Fixed issue where opening the Viewport on a scene with no geometry put the Viewport into an uncertain state
- Added preliminary support for Render Layers. Enable Render Layers in the "Rendersettings" tab, and assign individual render layer ID's to props/actors in the OctaneRender Parameters

2.24.2.4
- Suppressed "One or more GPU(s) don't occupy the highest Power State (possible degradation)!" log message
- Fixed issue introduced in 2.24.2.3 where prop translations were not being applied when opening the Viewport with Live disabled
- Improved conversion of Iray materials with opacity maps
- Removed the creation of material mix nodes when there are both normal and bump maps. Normal map is used if there is one, otherwise the bump map is used (if there is one)

2.24.2.3
- Added Network Render Status indicator in the System Tab -> Processed Data group box
- Added additional material conversion rules for Iray Materials - Opacity Cutout's are now picked up as opacty maps, and if there is a Refraction Weight > 0.5, the Octane opacity will be (1 - Refraction Weight). This should allow for better conversion of transmapped and clear surfaces
- Fixed issue where the camera comboboxes in the Animation and System tabs where blank.
- Set the maximum Bump and Normal power to 1 (to resolve cases where the power would be converted to 2)
- Stopped a blank Image node being added to the Glossy material of skin materials when there was no normal map in the DS surface
- General Visibility and Shadow Visibility Properties now work for figures/actors. Pls let me know if this has an adverse effect elsewhere
- Mesh and figure/actor transforms are no longer applied to the Octane Viewport if "Live" is disabled. This may assist reducing lag in large scenes
- Iray Uber materials with an "SSS Amount" >= 0.3 will be converted to Octane Material Mix SSS materials. This should resolve the Iray skin surface conversion issues being experiences by users, but will however require significant testing by users to ensure it is working correctly for all materials

* RECOMMENDATION: Edit->Preferences->Interface->Display Optimization->set to BEST

2.24.2.2
- Fixed activation issue when using the installer on a Windows install which had not previously had the plugin installed
- Fixed issue where DAZ Studio would crash on exit if run when the plugin was not authenticated
- Removed 'Here' button as it did nothing
- Fixed exception being raised when mouse clicking the map node
- Removed the On-line update checking
- Fixed memory corruption issue which was leading to Image, Alpha Image and Float Image nodes to have invalid texturemap names assigned
- Removed keyframe option from Bool and Color nodes (since setting a keyframe for these types crashed DAZStudio)

LIMITATION: The Viewport Camera Focal Length and FStop edit boxes CANNOT be edited. Instead use the sliders. This limiation may be fixed in the future
LIMITATION: When importing Rendertarget settings, the Kernel settings are NOT imported. This limitation may be fixed in the future

KNOWN ISSUE: The camera comboboxes in the Animation and System tabs are blank. This issue is being worked on as a high priority item....

2.24.2.1
- Changed the Release number to be the Octane release followed by a build number
- Added error message if exporting to ABC fails
- Fixed Exporting to Alembic (ie. it now exports an Alembic file)
- Disabled all Network Render controls and replaced with a single button to open the Octane Standalone network render settings. You should now be able to setup network rendering, however the feedback system to display the status of network rendering may not yet be working. All Network Render management tools (for slaves) has been removed. Set up slaves as per https://docs.otoy.com/Standalone_2_0/?page_id=1248
- New installer

Dear Paul
Thanks a lot for uploading the new Version. I have an Issue with the file:
After the installation Process (as Administrator) has finished, the activation Manager starts up.
Then it crashes with an error message "octane Live error, SSO sign in was canceled"
The license is deactivated. When i click on activation, the octane authentication manager opens and says im offline. When i sign in, nothing changes, the license is still deactivated.

Also activating from inside DAZ Studio fails with the same error.

I went back to 3_2_023 and there everything works fine, the plugin logs itself in perfectly. I then reinstalled 3.03.1 and had the error again, so I guess it must be a Fault in the plugin. Thank you for your graet work!

Does Octane Standalone 3.03.1 activate and run OK or does it give the same authentication error?

Many thanks for this update :D , now i can use my GTX 1070 also and not just for gaming.

Ps. I'm having some issues with refreshing the scene, after changes (Octane does not apply the changes sometimes (both material updates and poses etc) ) with this and the previous test version.

Edit/update: It seems above is more/also an impatient user ;) ... Scene changes do get applied, however sometimes it really takes very long (from the status in the viewport it looks like the render restarted (1/1000 s/px ... ), but after a while it restarts again with all scene changes).

I have had another user report a similar issue. It's not something I can reproduce - so any clues or additional info you can provide that will help me isolate the problem would be appreciated. In particular, check the Octane Log, and assess of one of the Preference tab settings is causing the issue.
