Pb Octane 4.00.0.21

Hi,

Since Octane V4 :

1- Changing the size of the Octane IPR Preview windows is really a pain sometimes the window freeze and I have a Layout crash ... (Nvidia Driver 417.01)
2- Denoiser doesn't work with PMC Kernel --> I have a black windows with Beauty Denoiser

Hi,

The PMC kernel doesn't support the denoising feature, this is a known limitation, but I was not aware of these problems with the IPR window. I'll try to reproduce them here. Perhaps they are related to the newer NVIDIA drivers, but I'm not sure. Is this an Octane v4 version problem only, or does it happen also in the v3.08 plugin builds?

Ok for PMC

I have tried 3.08 few minutes ago with the last drivers from Nvidia (417.01) and I have no pb with. It is not so fast as before but it works.
I came back again with 4.00.0.21 and it is very slow and most of time I have a crash or black frozen IPR when increasing the size.

Me too J, as I said the other day. The freezing/crashing while changing IPR window size never happened to me until 4.00.0.21...

My NVidia driver is 416.34

That IPR resize window is/was always tricky and non responsive - also it reloads lot of stuff after resizing, not sure why is that problematic and slow in LW, i see in C4D it can be resized instantly on the fly and no problems. Is there something you can do to that IPR window to make it more responsive on resizing Juan ? or is some kind of limitation in SDK ?

I'll take a look at it. Last time I had tested it, the problem was that without stopping the rendering Octane crashed, but probably this was an old issue now fixed.

Yes please check that i really like that resize window option but i avoid it like plague due it's slowness and flakiness .

Yeah, it's almost like it's not pausing the rendering when the resizing begins.. which I would certainly think it would...

The next plugin build will include an improved IPR window resize feature that hopefully will also fix the freeze and crashing issues.
