Hi! This is the latest production build of the OctaneRender™ 3.0 for LightWave™ plugin version 3.08.0.10, available for LightWave 10.1, 11.6, 2015.3 and 2018.0 Windows x64 and OSX. This build is compiled using the Octane 3.08 core.
Notes:
- Since we have to use CUDA toolkit 9.1 for that, you may have to update your graphics driver.
- The Windows plugin is now compiled using Visual Studio 2015. If you have problems to add the plugin to the Layout, try again after installing the Visual C++ 2015 redistributable package: https://www.microsoft.com/en-US/downloa ... x?id=53840

- Added a separate roughness channel for sheen.
- Improved the smootheness of the gaussian filter of the displacement map node.
* PLUGIN BUGS FIXED:
- Fixed several issues with the LiveDB material on Windows.
- Fixed the LW2018 FiberFX materials IPR update functions.
- Fixed the LW2018 IPR mesh updating after synchronizing from the Modeler.
- Fixed the LW2018 IPR updating after adding new objects to the scene.
* OCTANE BUGS FIXED:
- Fixed sampling of the backside of glossy materials.
- Fixed the 90° falloff mode of the falloff node.
- Fixed possible kernel crash when rendering scattering media.
- Fixed incorrect handling of grid offsets and coordinate system handedness of volume nodes.
- Fixed incorrect handling of materials with an IOR < 1.
- Various changes to make network rendering communication more robust.
- Suppressing warning messages if an ORC account doesn't exist or has expired.
- Fixed a crash if the LiveDB tab in the dialog is selected.
- Fixed a couple of sampling bugs in the glossy and metal materials.
- Fixed emission pattern of mesh lights if no projection node is connected to the texture node connected to a distribution input.
- Fixed missing volume emission if no render passes were enabled.
- Fixed rendering of the volume mask in areas that are not part of the active render layer.
- Fixed black halo around objects with the "special" specular material with IOR 1, roughness 0, white transmission and a medium.

Thanks, Juanjo!
I remember you said once that you want to try to adapt LW_Octane to the ability to render volumetric's of LW2018. Is there any news in this regard?

I'd rather hav V4 first, I am often working on scenes which take 5 minutes to start rendering.

Yes, I'll try to support the new LW2018 volumetrics, but probably along the Octane 4.x dev cycle. The next steps in the development will be related to update all the docs with the new 3.x features and to release the first plugin build with the Octane 4 core. If we have new 3.08 plugin builds, they will include only critical bug fixes.promity wrote:Thanks, Juanjo!

Guys, are we not able to displace fibers etc? I was under the impression that fiberfx/octane hair created UVs on the fly, and thus could be displaced... my ropes (et al) would look infinitely better if I could displace these mofos...
