Hey Hesekiel2517, I don't recommend PNGs but this is how it's done.

In the Save image popup use:
- save format = "PNG 8bit" or "PNG 16bit"
- color space = "Output - sRGB"

Make sure you pick "Output - sRGB" from the long list... Dont use "sRGB" (which is the default)

That will bake the ACES tonemapping into the png

Hi Hesekiel2517,

in case anyone is interested and was not aware, shameless-plug: viewtopic.php?f=30&t=77601&p=404119#p404119 as some are using ACES just for its "look" (RRT from the ODT), there are much simpler and better-suited solutions for equivalently pleasing results.

Hey there,

thank you for your answers!

@Funk: Sometimes I need a quick fileexport to show the result to the client. Exporting as Exr and converting this to a jpg is a little over the top for this. So exporting a png works great. Your suggestion gives a close result, but it's not the same as in the viewer. Do you get the same colors?

@elsksa
Thank you for sharing your knowledge! Yes, this seems to be a better option for me. I already had some problems using aces and it's really hard to understand how everything works :-)

What are you using in imager > ocio view? If you set it to ACES:sRGB, those export settings should match.
