Why does octane render hidden geometry? is there a way to avoid that?

I think the intended behaviour is (like with Skatter) to render everything in the Octane viewport, but not in the SU viewport. That way the viewport doesn't slow down while you are editing. I don't think there is a way to avoid that right now

Ah thanks haze - that makes sense.

It's a feature, not an issue. Now I see it as a tool.

But if I REALLY would like to hide some geometry, what do I do then?
It seems that not only hidden geometry, get rendered, but also geometry on hidden layers.

Probably Octane should not be rendering geometry if it is in a hidden layer - this seems to me a bug. I'll ask Ross to look at it.

Hide/Unhide geometry is working for me as long as it's not different visability innside diffrent Scenes.

This is usually the case ;) ....hence the usefulness of Hide/Unhide geometry are very limited.....

When shall this get a fix?

If I need smoothed geometry, I have to export ocs and reimport the obj from assets folder.....

There are inconsistency with Hide/Unhide geometry when using Skatter, this makes it a pain to use.

-Asset A > render only (see skatter 1 and 5 in render list), octane auto-hide it.
-Asset B > render only unchecked , octane don't auto-hide it and THIS is the preferred behavior.
-The rocks > from the Skatter Library and octane render the hidden seed asset.

When using render only it's impossible to reuse assets :(

Cap, when connecting proxies to obj .ocs/ .orbx/ .obj/ can you make the plug-in connect it to its own node graph (see pics below).
And please make it remember the layout/setting ;) and please don't auto-delete floating nodes!

ocs are often complex, and this would make the "Nodegraph editor" chaos a little less annoying.

Strange ting happening to proxies. Connecting it in an new/empty file end gpu fail (see pic.)
Happened several time, and also after restart. Now back to SU after 1 hour and proxies working again.

When I reopened same file I got a strange <auto>1 (programming?) naming, see pic.

Some positive feedback. 100 mill polys and still going smooth in SU :)
