Hi,

That would be an excellent addition. It appears that baking is not a native feature of SU, so implementing this feature will require an external dependency. Light baking is by all means feasible, but there are some challenges that need to be waded through (as opposed to simply doing an integration into native functionality). This is certainly a feature we will want to implement, as well as improving lighting features overall.


Seeing as some significant milestones are nearing completion, a chat with Captain about the near-future direction of plugin development is in order. Thanks for the suggestion, any other thought would all be appreciated.

We're waiting on another plugin, due out this summer specifically for unwrapping right in sketchup called WrapR. I like this integration, but I'm not sure why Trimble just can't include a UV map editor... Thanks.
