Was excited to read about the ability to denoise individual light passes. This would be incredibly useful for comping.
Its explained here viewtopic.php?f=33&t=82267 under "Powerful Denoise AOV Nodes and Filter Graphs (GPU and CPU)"
SO it looks like it works in stand alone. but for the life of me i can't get it working in the C4D version.
Adding "openAI denoise" in the node graph just enters an empty AOV output box. and doesnt seem to be any other clear way to follow the above example. Im on "2024 alpha 2" on a mac M2.
so question is (BEPE / AOKTAR) .. does it work? and has anybody else got this to work?
if so can someone share an example scene where its set up and working.
many thanks!

Hi,
Please upgrade c4doctane to 2024.1-Alpha4 version:
https://render.otoy.com/customerdownloa ... _4_OSX.zip
It works slightly differently in c4doctane, compared with Standalone.
So I have converted the Standalone example scene to c4doctane, to better catch the differences in Render Settings - Node Editor: Basically, you need to create an Output AOV group for each AOV that needs to be denoised, then connect the AOV node, then the Open Image Denoiser, and on top, the tonemapping nodes: Here is the scene: ciao,
Beppe

Amazing thanks Beppe, sorry for the late reply busy on another project.. but will try this out shortly!
if this works as described.. two points.. A) could be nice to have a simpler quick setup.. and B) should promote this feature its very useful for anyone doing composting with octane (ie most professionals)
thanks again!

Hi,
you shouldn't have issue with RNDR, both OctaneRender 2024.1 and 2025.1 are supported now.
ciao,
Beppe
