Hi, guys.
Please, help to solve the problem which has been raised so many times before.
I have a camera attached to the moving object. I'd like to use motion blur, but instead, I have the next issues:
  • • the background is not blurred
    • the car has is blurred
    • the wheels don't blur properly: the tire looks like blurred with DoF (not a motion blur). And the rim isn't blurred at all.
You can see all the settings in the screenshot attached.

By the way, I'm not the only one who has these issues.

The work by Jordi Den Hoedt, who confirmed that had the same problems with the wheels:

I've attached some more tests and the scene file:

Hi Aleksei,

Fortunately, your quandry is easily solved! Go to Render Settings > Octane Renderer > Main tab and set your Time Sampling per Frame value to greater than 1. When I have issues like these, I take it to at least 4, but in the case of this rendered image, I just started at 10. I think it will meet with your approval...

Thank you, Jay! In this test scene it helped indeed, but not for the universal camera. And it still doesn't work in the actual more complex scene, which I'm working on. No matter how big sampling I set — no result.
Here are my settings:

And here is what I get in the picture viewer render:

I even tried to add an object tag with motion blur disabled, but renderer just ignores it.

By the way, how should I set up my render in order to render scene in RNDR render farm? Is there a way to set Time Sampling per Frame in the .orbx file? Because I don't see this option in the RNDR itself:

Hi Aleksey, I would need to see the next scene for a look. If you feel more comfortable filing a ticket at -- help at otoy dot com -- we can keep your assets private.

In terms of RNDR, it is best to run it through standalone first, and I believe that the time sampling rate can be set there. I do not know if the time sample rate was intended to be exposed within RNDR or not. I would have to run that one over to the RNDR team for confirmation.

Checked the topic!
The universal camera has a problem with producing motion blur when having PSR keyframes. It looks like CORE issue, thanks for posting it. No need to tickets.
Tested it with ned SDK(2020.1.5), seems like fixed. So mblur steps=10 and new build will give correct results with Universal camera
