Greetings,
I am using 3.08.3 and C4D 18. After following this tutorial https://vimeo.com/129971509 In the last example using XP Trail - he manages to generate random colors on the hairs. I can't do this, they just all appear as one color. I noticed others complaining in the comments they had the same issue.
Is there a way to generate random colors on the hair object with Octane? Thanks!

Sorry but didn't you checked manual?

Thanks for the feedback....Yes I checked the manual, but I couldn't seem to find the answer. I also downloaded those examples previously, thanks Zoppo...in those examples the hair is being generated from the XP trail object with the Object tag....I am trying to randomize the color of the actual hair object. Maybe I'm just missing something? I have included a file....that demonstrates my problem. Thanks!

You're doing it wrong. Check picture and sample.

Thanks for response! However I as I mentioned I am trying to randomize on the actual Hair Object......Not on the XPtrail with an Octane object tag as you have done here...Reason being I need finer control over the thickness and other hair properties etc.
I know it can be done this way...but can this be achieved with the hair object? Like in that original video I posted? I am looking for it to be exactly like the sample you sent except with the hair object. Thanks for your time!

You can do with hair objects, but xparticle is not assigning uv mapping to generated hair. It's the reason why you cannot do that.
