Can someone spell out for me exactly what licenses I need to use team rendering inside of Cinema 4D.
Here is my problem:
I purchased a Cinema4d plugin license and two standalone licenses. One standalone is on my main machine and the other on a remote. Networking is setup properly and working. In fact, I've just completed a big project succesfully using Octane, but I had to send everything out of Cinema 4D to the local standalone to actually use the remote machine in tandem.
Within C4D, it seems only the LV can see and use the remote machines. Yet, it states in the manual under C4D/Team Render "This is easier to setup. Only need a client or other copy of Cinema 4D which is working on Client Machine."
This is not true in my experience.
If I try to use team render, the remote machine is ignored. (I can see the remotes drop out of the Network render dialog box as well.) And I can tell by how long it takes to render that it is only using the local gpu. And I can't use the plug-in license from the main machine because it throws up an Octane error that the license is already in use (which makes sense.)
Apparently, you also need a separate C4D plugin license on the remote as well.
So how do I set up a render properly inside C4D using Octane network rendering and use both local and remote gpus?
If I could just send everything to the LV for final render then the problem would be solved. I just can't spend another $600 to use team render.
Thanks in advance.
Licensings needed to render inside Cinema4d

Correct way to select "enable Network Rendering" in Octane Render Settings and install and select slave in the another machine for your case. What did you tried and couldn't made? Did you tried this?
You need 2*combo license for Team Rendering. But 1plugin+2standalone license is fine for the method that i said.

Thank you for the reply. Now I understand i needed two combo licenses for the team render to work. One question answered.
Yes, I have the slaves enabled and working inside C4D, but as soon as I try to render anitmation, the slaves disappear. And if I stop the render, I can the slaves reauthenticating in the Octane Network rendering dialog.
That is the problem. Network rendering only works for the LV inside of Cinema 4d. It doesn't function properly when you try to render animation through C4D.

Yes, that's what I've been saying. It's ticked. Slaves are running fine and showing. When I use the LV I can see my local GPU plus 2 of 2 gpus in 1 slave. The network rendering is all working fine.
The problem comes in that the remote slaves drop offline when I try to use C4D's export.
The version is 3.05.3 - the newest stable version.
If I could just render to LV everything would be great. I know I can save a 16-bit png from it, so why I can't I automate to it. But let's not get off-track...

In theory and practice if you select slaves from network dialog in render settings that should work. I don't know why they drop or somethings. Do you see any messages in Octane Log Window from master and slave's console window?

Okay. I tried rendering a different way and it appears it's working. I rendered directly to Picture viewer and the overlay showed the gpus in use including the slaves. (I never render this way, I always used batch render - with team.)
What threw me is that if you open network rendering directly after one of these renders, the slaves are not showing... then they appear and reauthenticate. And the Octane overlay never appeared in picture viewer until I did it this way. In fact. if I try to sent my batch render to appear in the picture viewer it would crash, so I never watched the renders or saw the overlay.
LV works so much better, and it always shows the slave gpus as active and running.
Thank you and sorry for your trouble, aoktar.
