I have a scene that cannot be rendered via command line if a Maya instance (with UI) is not opened. The problem is that it will batch render when the maya application window is open but it takes more then twice of the time.
network rendering is on and I am using a batch file in windows.
this worked in the past. now it stops at baking frame 4.. using command line render.
any quick help appreciated
thanks

Can you share your batch file?
What do you mean with it worked before? It worked before with 2.24?

I can not share the file because of NDA restrictions.
It worked before means that it worked with the Octane4Maya version before with the scene in an earlier stage.
I will have to troubleshoot and investigate the scene bit by bit to see if the problem is related to UVs or geometry of some objects (if no fix is available) but I hope that there will be a fix for the plugin instead, so that the render process is not stopped by octane.
I don't understand why I can batch render on a single machine when the Maya UI is open and not if the Maya UI is closed.
Thanks for the support.

So the change is within the scene.
That's really hard/impossible to track without scene and even batch file.
Totally understand you can't share those.
You see I have zero points to start investigating from.
I see that it would be nice to have the plugin be smarter about wrong UV's, geometry and so on,
but especially for v2 its not possible (meaning it would take such a long time, which is to be spend on v3).
Sorry,
Kai

Did you solve your issue or did you find more clues for this issue while debugging ?
Trying to understand this "need maya UI" thing:
What happens if you don't use network rendering (only local command line rendering) ?
what happens if you delete all objects in the scene ?
Do you use subframe motion-blur in this scene ?
Do you use some cache in this scene ?
