Hi,
This seems to be an issue originating from the standalone, not the plugin. The next release should be due shortly, so if the vbd issue is still there, I will keep either this post, or the release thread, updated on progress towards working vbd integration.

in standalone i get the Error " Could not Load G:\FumeFX_Cache\VDB\FumeFX790_0013.vdb:density-density-density
if i under Preferences "Import"-"VDB-Import" check "edit settings Before loading new geometry" its loads the vdb without any errors but it takes me about 10min to find it in the viewport
also it only renders smoke Only and not Fire
File:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/oqogi0jw5rca0 ... 7.vdb?dl=0
Same File wont render at all in Max. it does not give any error when loading the file.
regards

i am on the 3.5 beta plugin and still having the same issue with houdini vdb.
the volume tested in clarisse and phoenix vdb loader and both work, the file comes up empty in octane volume loader.
is there any update on this please or any sort of ETA?
i hate to be a pest, just simply want to know whether i will be able to use octane on the upcoming project or should i stick to clarisse.
thanks

Given that the vbd is coming from one beta application, passed into another beta application, the source of the issue could come from a variety of possible sources. If the issue lies in the Octane for Houdini plugin, there will not be much we can do on the SU end. In saying that, it will require testing to know for sure.
Would you be able to send in a test scene? I could run through the same process as you to confirm the issue. If you are happy to do this, please specify your OS, versions of the Octane Standalone, Houdini, and Sketchup, and confirm that you have the latest CUDA drivers installed.
Cheers,
Azen
Yes, this is planned for feature releases...ThaRaven wrote:would it be possible to add a "sequence" button to the Volume Object? its kinda pointless at least for me to only load and Render a single vdb file. Regards
