I'm looking at something similar for my 8-core MacPro.
I'd be using with Blender, and I was wondering if anyone has found what kind of render speed increase I might see vs. using Blender Internal?
I know it depends a lot on the settings used with each renderer, but would be helpful to know what people are finding with Octane vs. Blender Internal. I'd be happy to upload an example .blend file if anyone has a setup to try it out.
I'm doing mostly 3D motion graphic renders of abstract animations, with materials and lighting setup to be very roughly "photo-realistic" - i.e. Shiny, reflective objects with cool motion, HDRI ... without getting too into the tweaky details of the more advanced rendering techniques
I'm really just looking for a much faster way to render the animations.
Also, does anyone have specifics (tutorial or reasonably detailed recipe) for doing an animation using Blender with Octane? I think I read elsewhere on this forum that it is possible with the current Octane beta.
Thanks!!

the upcoming 2.1 release (coming this week) will support basic animation.
The current beta2 does'nt yet.
The speed depends on your GPU.
A GTX200 series card will be about 15x as fast, a new GTX400 up to 30-50x depending on various factors.
