Hi all,

beta2 will be released friday or saturday.
i don't like giving absolute dates as when something goes wrong and we delay it a day, we have a lot of people waiting on the forums for it.

So just be patient, we'll release it when it's done.

Hi,
good news! I have a long weekend due to Easter, if the weather is not as good as I hope I will have something to play with then ;)

Best regards,

Beta2?

I haven't been following developement so much since the Commercial release. I was excited about another thread I ran across talking about .PNG Transparency (opacity maps) available in Beta2. But it got me wondering about "Beta2".

I re-read the purchase agreement:
Our beta program allows users to buy a license for Octane Render Studio Edition Beta releases, at half the normal retail price.
Your beta license will also be valid for the final v1.0 Studio Edition release, and subsequent dot releases such as v1.1, v1.2, etc, and will allow a reduced upgrade cost to future v2.0 releases.

So is this v1.2 (Or v1.1) or are you skipping past all the v1.x releases to v2.0? I.e. Does this mean we have to purchase an upgrade already?

no, this is beta2, then beta3, beta4 etc... then v1.0 final.
then updates v1.1, v1.2 etc...

then, probably 6-8 months from now we go to v2.0.
