Thanks,"keep continuity" for DISPLACEMENT?
Hi cirasa,
with OctaneRender displacement you need to change the Phong angle to 91°, or disable the Angle limit option in the Phong tag of the mesh with displacement.
Remember to play with the Mid Level value based of the image used to define where the displacement have to start.

Well this doesn't fix the issue, is actually pointing a problem with displacement in other render we don't have, I think should be review the actual displacement node is breaking all geometry and making the usage of SSS impossible to be accurate. only with a really small displacement and then is pointless better use a nomal or a bump.
Octane Render for Maya.

Hi Jolbertoquini,
what about the uvs?
With OctaneRender displacement you cannot have overlapping uvs.

wait, what?! really, you can't have overlapping UV's? is this new or has it always been like this?bepeg4d wrote:Hi Jolbertoquini,

I've had some random problems with displacement in the past that I haven't been able to diagnose and now i'm wondering if that was the cause of it.
Intel i7-3930K, 64gb RAM, Asus X79 Deluxe mobo, 2x EVGA 780 6gb (for rendering), 1x PNY quaddro k4000 (for display)

Hi Jolbertoquini,
I can confirm that displacement has never worked with overlapping uvs.
