Changes since 1.1.1.1314

Features
  • Added ability to select render devices to be used for denoising
  • Upgraded to Octane 4.00 XB 3
Fixes
  • Fixed terrain issues
  • Fixed issue with version control
Version 1.1.1.1314 has an issue with accessing the update server, which breaks up/downgrading. In order to upgrade to 1.1.1.1317, you'll need to uninstall Octane from your Unity project, and reinstall it to be able to upgrade to get 1.1.1.1317.

I'm confused, where can I download this latest patch? It doesn't show up as a version in Unity with Octane installed. Is there a github release or something you can link me to?

If you have a Unity instance with Octane installed, but not loaded, you can use the version control built into Octane.

I don't see any of those newer options available in my project with Octane installed. The most recent option I have is 1.1.0.1245. Here's a screenshot:

In case that didn't upload, here's a link to it on Google Drive: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1NHHsiz ... sp=sharing

I'm on Unity 2017.1. Should I try on 2018?

OK, I see now that that version is only available on Unity 2018. I have successfully installed it on that version, but when I try to load it, the dll's fail. I get two error messages:

"Failed to load octane.dll (C:\Users\LKG\AppData\Local\Octane\Unity\2018.1.1f1_1.1.1.1317_T1\octane.dll). Errorcode: 126"
"Failed to load OctaneUnity.dll (C:\Users\LKG\AppData\Local\Octane\Unity\2018.1.1f1_1.1.1.1317_T1\OctaneUnity.dll). Errorcode: 126"

What is the solution to these issues? I haven't seen other posts that have had this particular issue on version 1.1.1.1317.

Are you using Unity 2017.3.0 or newer?

Hello all,

Sorry to hear of the issues currently being experienced with OctaneRender for Unity by some among you.

To troubleshoot effectively, please completely uninstall OctaneRender for Unity - you should be prompted about whether to uninstall the Octane option on the Toolbar as well. Select Yes when prompted for this.

Upgrade to Unity 2018, if you have not already (2017.3 also works as well, if it is essential for you to remain within the 2017 release versions).

Download and open the OctaneRender for Unity Installer Scene (e.g. The Docking Bay). Open the PBR Settings Window, and confirm the latest available version. Once you have updated (if needed - you should be able to confirm via PBR Settings > Version Control), Click the "Load Octane" button. If the loading attempt returns an error, simply close and reopen Unity and try again.

If you experience any other errors, please open the Console Window for Unity (Should be available in the Default Layout, otherwise press Ctrl+Shift+C) and share the contents of the Log with our Customer Support Team.

Cheers,
Azen
