It is with sad news, that I have to announce, that - as of now, - we'll be discontinuing sales on all RedSpec SSS products.
This is a decision that certainly was a difficult one to make, but the current state of the OCDS plug-in and the licensing / subscription model for OctaneRender is something we cannot longer identify with.
Although changes have been announced for regular / perpetual license holders, to be coming in the near future, research / development load for the shaders is something our small team, which - in the meantime - has shrunk to one person, cannot uphold any longer.
It has been a great ride and we'd like to sincerely thank our userbase for their continued support, the great artwork produced with our shaders and your understanding regarding RedSpec SSS.
Of course, we'll try to continue to handle support for as long as possible.

I'm sorry to hear that.
I have bought all your shaders and I'm very happy with them, although I'd like to get some updated ones especially for the Genesis 8 people.
Sometimes it's hard to get a good subsurface scattering for the skin of G8 - compared to a rendering using Genesis 3.
And I'm not happy with the state of the plugin and the subsription model also.
Best regards.
Mathias

Very sorry to see this announcement so long after it was made, I've been very satisfied with my purchases of almost all their products and only recently decided to try out the former RedSpec TGX Wet beta.
I am satisfied with the current Octane license/subscription model and have a subscription that allows me to retain the last level of code after my subscription period ends - plus, the Daz plugin is now free for single-GPU use.

If you have any of TRRazor products, you were given a Ferrari but chose to drive it like a Pinto.
I loaded some old scenes with Michael 3 and applied a custom version of redSpec shader. See for yourself.

Hi TRRazor,
I hope you're doing well! I recently came across the RedSpec SSS project and was really impressed by its capabilities for OctaneRender. I understand from your 2019 OTOY forum post that the project has been discontinued, but I was wondering if there’s any way to still access RedSpec SSS for personal use, perhaps through archived versions or existing licenses.
If you’re open to sharing any details on how I might obtain it or if there are alternative solutions you’d recommend, I’d greatly appreciate your guidance. Thank you for all the work you put into RedSpec SSS, and I completely respect your decision to step away from the project.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
