I have used octane for still renders and vray (for c4d) for animations, and used rebus renderfarm cause of tight deadlines.
Im starting a new animation (375f) project with tight dealine, and trying octane for this is very tempting! But my knowledge of the cloud is limited and not sure if its good/fast enough compared to rebusfarm with bugs and cost ect.
What do you use in this situation? Any advice or tip is highly appreciated.
octane ready for long renders over the cloud?
Hi domis,
ORC is designed to give the best with animation, and you can check if your scene will be rendered fine on OctaneRende Cloud, by exporting it firstly to Standalone.
In general, if it works on Standalone, it works also on ORC.
Currently there are some limitation with alembic export and materials and lights animation, but the devs are already working on this and this limitation will be gone with the future versions.
ciao beppe

Thanks for the reply beppe. I've chosen to try out ORC with my new project, but now i got this msg when i was about to do a test render "Access to ORC is currenly unavailable".
Is this just unlucky timing and it will be up soon? if yes, does this happen alot?
I need consistency in my cloud/farm services cause of sudden changes from clients. I know nothing can be 100% bulletproof, but close to.
