About time too!
Beta doesnt sells well.
I have never understood what rules apply that qualifies a tool as beta or final.
There are companys who sell their products as final, even thought they bring out service packs/hotfixes just a few weeks later.
200,- is still a fair price for what you can do ...

Re: article about ocatne and the competing gpu renderers
Actually this article was written by a Octane customer named cgbeige. Nice read by the way cgbeige.
I am wondering if APUs will help the devolpers in the future to implement features which aren't that easy to implement on a GPU?

Re: Where is the Benchmark thread?
Well, I am actually more interested on a 4x GTX260/285 [1,8GB/2GB vRAM] configuration because of the higher vRAM.
I read there is a GTX460 with 2GB vRAM comming/on the market. Would 4x 460 GPUs scale better than 4x 260/285?
And does anyone know if there is a 470/480 with higher vRAM comming/on the ...

Re: Where is the Benchmark thread?
Hi Radiance,
Thanks for the Link.
Seems I have found what I was looking for.
Edit: One more question. Does Octane actually support 4x GTX295?

Where is the Benchmark thread?
Hi guys,
I am on the way to build my personal supercomputer with 4 GeForce cards and I would like to see some benchmakrs first but I couldn't find a benchmark thread yet.
Maybe someone can link me to there?
I am thinking to buy 4x GTX295 and a 1500Watts PSU or 4x GTX260 [1792MB vRAM]/GTX285 ...

Re: 2.3 release and roadmap
This discussion reminds me on the case of the movie " The Man from Earth ".
Maybe Refractive Software should do something similar by puting a DONATE button in front of the page just like http://manfromearth.com has.

Re: One solution to the "required internet connection"
I am not really sure if Refractive Software does log any IP, but I assume they have zero interest to work with tons of log data, but rather to improve their product (Octane) and developing takes already enough time.

Frankly I think that many people simply do not like the idea of being IP ...

Re: Very specific question about internet connection requirement
Now this is probably great news for all you paranoids.
A secure connection, very good Radiance (HTTPS isn't cheap for you, but I hope you didn't/don't pay to much), thanks for taking care of that!
For everyone who doesn't know what HTTPS is, sneak a peek:

Re: In case of business failure...(2.3 and internet....)
A product like Octane goes bust?
I don't think so.
It is more than likely that Refractive Software is on its way to expand greatly.

Valentine, no worries, I surely did read your comment.
Anyways, professionell studios take care of their network, that includes internet connection as well.
