it's true. a brand new leadtek gtx780ti card costs me around 466USD. while a brand new gtx980Ti costs around 666USD here in Taipei ;)

I just upgraded my machine to 4x GTX780ti in a (i believed) very affordable way, here is the config list :

ASUS Z87WS x1 -230USD
Intel Pentium 20th Anniversary G3258 Processor @4GHz x1 -66USD
kingston hyperx t1 4GB x2 -46USD

Leadtek GTX780Ti OC Triple Fan x2 -933USD

MSI Z97 XPOWER AC would be the choice, this board support quad PCIE 3.0 running at x8 bandwidth. cost around 400 USD at a retail in Taipei ;)

COOOOL!!! are you really going to make a real render farm like this way? you need strong chassis structure and a lot of 1000W power supplier and best with a water cooling system, looking forward to the real machine :D

render with latest beta 2.52, night view is a pathtracing render takes 4.5hrs. day view is directlight render and for sure it's super fast ;)

congratulation!

my best friend who taught me mental-ray years ago(he's one of the render masters in our school) is working for a lighting design firm. after comparing i-ray and octane he's also looking forward to octane render! cheers! :)
