Is deep rendering working for anyone? When I turn on "Deep image" in the kernel, the render starts but never finishes. The GPU claims it's busy but it seems to be stuck in some endless loop.

I don't have any experience with C4D but maybe you have to explicitly enable deformational motion blur in addition to the setting in the orbx file? If you have a way to look at velocity vectors per point in C4D, you'll see that they are swirling around in an unexpected way around the polys that are ...

Thanks for the reply. Do you happen to know if the rest of us can benefit from this custom feature too? In other words, is there a way to read vector data in the volume shader and do something with it?

Thanks for looking at my file and confirming that this is intended behavior. TBH I wasn't super motivated to track down this issue before because I wasn't sure if this was just a beta thing, given that 2 other renderers I used didn't exhibit the problem. I exported an orbx file that demonstrates the issue. Let me know if you see that weird buckled reflection along the bottom surface of the tank. I don't know if this is happening across Octane in general or just the Octane X macOS beta.

Has anyone had to deal with this weird glitch when rendering specular surfaces in Octane? For some reason, a flat poly surface appears buckled, but this happens only for some camera angles. Connecting a Volume Ramp to the absorption ramp input of Volume Medium seems to always crash Houdini when you attempt to render the result. Doing so doesn't happen in Octane standalone.

Note that the same crash happens when connecting the volume ramp to the scatteringRamp or the emissionRamp ...

That would be great. It could as simple as a "Pause Update" tool. And selecting either Reload or Update afterward would resume automatic updating.

Looking forward to the Qt5 IPR. I know you guys have been working on it for a while. :D
