EXR support is one of the biggest factors that has kept Octane on the sidelines for us using it in production. With EXR many of our issues would be addressed as well. +1

Thanks for your suggestions. The specular+opacity gives much better results, but its still not an acceptable solution; at least not for production use. The issue is that headlamps and taillamps have 3-5 different layers of glass that all need to work together. I'll spec pass the glass layers as an ...

Can anyone make any recommendations for multiple layers of glass? Specifically geared towards headlamps and taillamps setups, besides passing the glass out and screening it in post.

I shaded my scene in octane, saved it, reloaded the file as animation. It got through 14 frames out of 700+ before crashing. Now whenever I try to reload the animation it loads but Octane asks me to locate the mesh file 3 different times before it loads properly. It does this on every frame. It also ...

Now thats fast for directlighting for a single card! I would be curious to see 2x480 water cooled benchmarks.

Its hard to really find an apples to apples breakdown because you may need to upgrade your MB, PSU, Case, add liquid cooling, or buy a Cubix ...

All renders taken at 60 seconds intervals.
Nvidia drivers- 257.21 WHQL
Octane 2.2bx64

CubixPro 2x480's
Pathtracing result:on-screen: 5.79 Megasamples/sec; Total samples 604

It doesn't happen to all scenes, but a lot of them. Last night I was trying simple boxes and Octane kept crashing or would disappear fully after a few seconds of being launched. Gonna go try 2.2b now...
