Re: Cinema4D version 2021.1 RC2 (Current 2021.1) 17.09.2021

Hi everyone!
Does anyone know why the D65 white light spectrum gives a reddish tint and how to work with D65 properly?
Screenshots are 4 posts above.

Please see my reply in the Octane core thread here .

Thanks @karu!

So can we expect updates to existing sky models for D65? :)

Re: Cinema4D version 2021.1 RC2 (Current 2021.1) 17.09.2021

@lanklaf, I noticed your file did not have the proper settings on the Camera OICO View dropdown, which should be ACES:sRGB and the Live Viewer, of course, would then require the Colorspace menu to be set to OCIO. In addition, the Camera tag would then need to be set to a Linear response curve. I ...

Re: OctaneRender™ 2021.1 RC 2 [current 2021.1]

The image appears reddish when using the D65 white light spectrum instead of legacy/flat.
So it should be, or am I doing something wrong?

Scene: Octane standard daylight model is set at 45 degrees + 18% gray material. ODT is set to ACES sRGB.
D65 on the left and legacy/flat on the right.

Re: OSL Texture converter for ACES

Hi there,

Does anyone know if Octane has an OSL node that converts textures to be used for the diffuse channel for when rendering in ACES.

Thanks
Nope, Octane will get it in 2021 version.

Re: Motion Blur not working

Hey,

very simple scene:
One falling object (dynamic / alembic), one light, one camera. I tried everything but can't get motion blur to work.
Any suggestions?

Thanks!
Drop an Octane Object tag on your model.
Also reduce the Shutter Speed, for example to 1/50 (0.02).

Re: Cracks appearing over models

yes, thank you! The ray epsilon value seemed to be what was causing the issues. Answering your question; object is a regular size about 100cm tall and 30 wide.
I think you mean 100 meters by 30 meters :D
Standard Grid spacing in 50 cm,
you have - 500 cm.

Check your scale here:
