I have been going back and forth with nvidia about the speed issues of the Fermi based cards over the past month or so and its an opengl speed issue with the 4xx architecture only, which may or may not be fixed in with a new driver. Apparently its an issue with double sided lighting ...

Can you see any reason why using XP compatibility mode fixes this problem?
It seems as long as XP compatibility mode is on for the initial startup of the program it will work perfectly (even if i uncheck it) until the next reboot of the pc.
Any ideas?
Ok this is odd. I just ran the program as normal and it crashed. I then ran it in XP SP2 compatibility mode and it worked..i then turned off XP SP2 compatibility mode and now it works all the time. That doesn't make much sense now does it?

You inspired me to try the 32bit version again and it worked!(with 197.13 drivers):D
I must have make a mistake last time i tried the 32bit and accidentally launched the 64bit version instead.
So it looks like this is a specific issue with the 64bit Edition on Vista 64.
Thanks for the replys guys. Looks like its something to do with the Vista 64bit drivers then ,seeing as that both Javadevil and I use that OS and are having the same problem :/ Hopefully it gets fixed in a future driver update.

Yea that was me :) I usually do a fresh install every 6 months (the most recent install was just over a month ago) The thing is that every other program i run day to day is ok...even xNormal which has a Cuda renderer runs ok. Do you know of a way to test an install to see if it is broken without ...
