I'm neither Lightwave Digital (who has picked up continuing development of the plugin), nor Otoy, but word from LWD is that this will be available with the impending release of 2024.1.

Re: LW update?

And I'm so excited to eventually get updated documentation for the LW plugin too! It's still for the 3.x branch of Octane. Way, way, way out of date. Some of the other plugins are just as bad, so it's not unique to LW, but d**n people... :) Stop making me translate that cinema thing's docs... to ...

Re: Lightwave Plugin Manual update?

It's not just Lightwave either. All of the plugin docs are anywhere from slightly to obscenely out of date, even the "big guns" are out of date. The only manual that's even close to staying up to date with the ***insane*** pace the devs have set with feature releases is the main Octane standalone ...

Re: NVIDIA Resizable BAR?

If I understand what it is and what's going on under the hood with the drivers and hardware, we may see a pretty good bump in speed to load content onto the card and possibly a render bump depending on the size of the kernel code size.

The introduction comes with the RTX 3060, but you still need ...

Re: Amazon Elastic GPU's

The Elasctic Graphics product at AWS is a network attached graphics adapter that offload OpenGL calls via a custom (amazon devloped??) API hook in Windows. It currently is not a CUDA or similar capable system, but only a display accelerator. What it does, effectively is take OpenGL calls to the OS ...

Re: OctaneRender 2020.1 LightWave Production build 2020.1.0.7

I'm curious what the holdup is on getting this production release posted up to the downloads page like the rest of the 2020.x release plugins for the rest of the DCC packages. Is this the production release or should I stick to the 2019.x branch for now?

Re: USER EDITED VERSION OF THE MANUAL

I agree that the manuals for Lightwave's Octane plugin are out of date, but to put this in perspective, so are all the rest witht he exception of a short addendum in Cinema4D and the Unreal Docs. Here's a quick breakdown of the docs available through the website with the version and publish date on ...

Documentation

Are there any plans or has there been any work on updating the Lightwave documentation for Octane? Currently the version available under the documentation tab is for Octane 3.06 from May 17, 2017. It's now two years out of date. Pulling information out of the main Octane information and translating ...

All Access for Subscription based users

I'm curious what happened to the All Access option for Subscription users. It's no longer an option under the "Rent" tab on the shop. I'd like to upgrade from monthly to an annual All Access sub that was available earlier this year. Is this something that's just a glitch in the website or has that ...
