I sent a support request on this but two days no answer.
Just want to confirm if we can use any of the older versions with a new annual plan. For example for render nodes, where the enterprise has 10x included node licenses. Can we run 10x 2019 versions of render nodes with this? It includes all ...

Re: OctaneRender® 2022.1 XB 0
Do you guys have a solution for flaky Australian internet yet? When the net goes down here (every week, usually, for "maintenance") all the nodes go offline.
Sure, there's a USB. But then we can't put our license on hired remote render servers.
And what about the 10x render nodes included with ...

Re: How to license 2019 on a 2020 sub?
So someone posted me a screenshot to show that you do get access to past versions as well as current version so should be fine, just silly that I can't find this info on the Otoy site listed nice and clear on an easy-to-find page.

How to license 2019 on a 2020 sub?
Hi
We're still on v4 for many reasons, now need 2019.x for a month.
No info on how this works on the "buy" page? Still??
If we subscribe for a month for enterprise and node(s), do we have access to all builds prior to current version? Need a very specific build of 2019 for collaborative reasons so ...

Does authentication last longer than a single session yet?

Re: OSL Til Shift Lense
Narrowed down the problem - I can render a 6k image on one single machine using the OSL tilt shift lens.
If I try to use netrender, the image starts to render, then chunks of it go black and glitched, then the whole image goes black and glitched - at ANY resolution.
So netrender seems to not like ...

Re: OSL Til Shift Lense
Does rendering with the OSL lens use more memory in any way?
I can render a high res image with the regular camera - only 4706x6656, which is odd because I thought Octane could render 8kx8k.
But if I try the same resolution with the OSL tiltshift camera (same settings, position, tag settings only ...

Re: Authentication for EVERY god damn session, internet is down
Thanks so much for your support Tom
I think the authentication really could be easily adapted to once-every-24-hrs or even longer duration. On our last project it got to the point where we couldn't trust that renders would complete overnight, as often a queue item would see failed slaves when the ...

Re: Authentication for EVERY god damn session, internet is down
Hey Tom
I don't think you quite follow what I am getting at here. People seem to latch onto the Dongle argument and skip over the rest. We're not trying to split up plugin/standalone over two machines.
The main issue is that because Octane slave needs to authenticate ALL the time, constantly, even ...

Bump
Any progress on this? Saw a new update to standalone is out. Is anyone working on improved authentication so we don't have stopped renders all the time?
