The Dell Ultrasharp 27" U2713HM Monitor is a very nice monitor, it's from december 2013, for me that is really new...
I don't use 4K because I can't see what I'm doing, everything is just too smal.
I start with a single monitor setup.
And as soon as it is possible, because I;m rebuilding my house ...

Re: Which pc/workstation for Octane?
I heard some nasty stories about the GTX 780 when making architectural visuals.
It seems that the 780 creates artifacts, or wrong pixels every 1000 pixels.
And when making a 3000x2000 render, there are lots af artifacts.
The Titan Black doesn't do this.
But I didn't tested this myself...

Re: Which pc/workstation for Octane?
Ah ok,
Thought the Titan Black was the fastest to get at this moment.
My scenes are not bigger than 6GB...
I will look for the 780's as well.
Thanks!

Re: Which pc/workstation for Octane?
Hey Glimpse,
Just got back from a computer shop in my town.
I just want to say that they build me a pc for 4000 euro's (same as 4000 dollars when exporting to the Netherlands)...
These are the specs:
Fractal Design Define XL R2 white case
Intel Asus Rampage IV Extreme motherboard
Intel Core i7 6 ...

Re: Which pc/workstation for Octane?
I was told the i7 is much faster in single core tasks like modeling an drawing in Vectorworks and Revit.
That's what I do a lot.
I want to change my workflow and do more 3D architectural renders.
If I choose a 3DBOXX 4920 Extreme GPU I have a fast (not the fastest) i7 6-core chip and the ...

Re: Which videocard in new workstation?
I found the 3DBOXX 4920 Extreme GPU workstation with 3rd generation Intel® Core™i7 Extreme 6 cores.
I'm not sure if this is the fastest i7 chip available...
I use Vectorworks, Revit, Sketchup, Vray and Cinema4D.
VrayforC4D is not Vray RT yet, I'm still waiting for it.
But when it's there, I want to ...

Re: Which videocard in new workstation?
I'm afraid that I'll buy a new workstation that still isn't fast enough for rendering when choosing for a Intel® Core™i7 Extreme 3rd Generation 4,5Ghz with 6 cores...

Which videocard in new workstation?
Hello,
I'm at the point of buying a new pc workstation with Dual Intel Xeon E5-2650 8 Core processors, Nvidia Quadro K4000 3GB video card, 64GB Memory and 240GB SSD Disk.
Think that this will work great with Octane/Vray, I hate my current 2009 Imac, it's to slow...
But, my question...

Re: Which pc/workstation for Octane?
I have a Boxx 4920 Xtreme machine and it uses NVidia Quadro workstation and Tesla cards. While it's well suited for workstation-specific needs with CAD, analysis and simulations, it is slow at GPU unbiased rendering! Really slow compared to the gaming and GeForce cards specifically. So as much as I ...
