I have updated the Studio+ installers at the top of this thread with:
2023.1.2.198
- Export Frame and Export Animation now renames the rendertarget to the ORBX name
- The Save Image, Export Frame and Export Animation commands now default the save filename to the Modo scene filename
- Fixed issue where the Output AOV->Image File was not working
- Fixed issue where scrubbing the timeline when there was a light with Toon Light enabled resulted in an Octane Log error
2023.1.2.197
- Fixed issue where the checkboard would not render on AOV Output passes with alpha enabled
- Ray Epsilon now has a minimum of 0.0000001
- All Deprecated nodes (from previous versions of Octane) are now in the Schematic->Add->Channel Modifier->Octane->Deprecated group
- Added an Object (ie. Mesh) Pick button. Shift-Right-Click to pop up a menu to select meshes behind the top mesh. Only works for "Live Geometry Update" enabled.
- You can now save to "Multi-layer Discrete Files" with PNG, JPEG and TIFF
- You can now select multiple crytomatte passes with the Cryptomatte Pick function of the Mask With Cryptomatte node
- You can deselect crytomatte passes with the Cryptomatte Pick function of the Mask With Cryptomatte node by using the right mouse button click
- The Cryptomatte passes in the Render Passes panel->Cryptomatte tab have been renamed and reordered to match the Type combobox of the Mask With Cryptomatte node
- Fixed bug where if Object Motion Blur was on, and the first mesh instance for a mesh was not visible, the remaining mesh instances would not show
- Fixed issue where Modo would crash if you disable a Mesh Instances source mesh visibility when using the Render Cache
- From a past release : Removed the octane.createUdim command, as UDIM tile support was added in 2022.1.1.191
- Fixed a number of issues associated with UDIM support : '_' can now be used between the filename and the UDIM number, a UDIM Folder can be dragged onto the Schematic and plugged into the Filename pin of an Image node, UDIM files in the wrong order and gaps in UDIM files are now rendered correctly
- Added the "Use In Post Volume" property from Octane 2023 to the "Daylight Environment" item
- Updated the Cryptomatte tooltips to indicate which passes generate stable matte IDs. NOTE: The "Object pin name" pass is not of use within the Modo plugin
- Fixed issue where Custom AOV's for a Proxy Mesh were not working
- Fixed issue where the play button was not available after exporting an animation
- Pressing the Cancel button on the progress monitor whilst exporting the scene to ORBX now correctly aborts the export process
Thanks
Paul

Sorry for the delay replying to this. I am actually waiting on a fix to the Octane lights in the core Octane renderer prior to adding analytic lights. Once the issue is fixed, you should see analytic light shortly after.is there an estimated release date for a build with analytic lights support?
Thanks

Hi Paul,
on the Mac the current plug-in version seems to have a bug - tested with Modo 17.0.5 on Apple Silicon.
When exporting a scene to orbx with materials that use "Color Vertex Attribute", the meshes seem to loose the color vertex maps.
Cheers,
David

Hi David. Could you please send me a simple scene which demonstrates this issue, and I will take a closer look.davidvonbehr wrote:Hi Paul,

Hi Paul,
sure - this is a very simple Modo scene exported to ORBX: Thanks!
Cheers,
David

Thanks for the scene David. The error is due to an issue with the export to ORBX process that is only present in the 2023.1.2.199 version of the plugin, and is fixed in the next release (2023.1.3.200). The next release of the Octane plugin will hopefully be shipped in the next build of Modo (17.0v7?). I don't have an exact date of that release, sorry.davidvonbehr wrote:Hi Paul,

I have updated the installers at the top of this thread with:
2023.1.3.200
- Compiled with Octane 2023.1.3
- Added all new items from 2023.1.3 (ie. the Output AOV->Boost Highlights node, new pins, etc)
- Changed the "octane.command deleteUnusedNodes" command to "octane.deleteUnusedNodes". You can still also use the "octane.command deleteUnusedNodes" command
- Fixed issue where clicking the "Cancel" button during the Delete Unused Nodes process would not cancel the action
- The Texture Layer->Apply Gradient Map node now has a Modo gradient control, so works as per the Texture Gradient 2 node
- The Texture -> Octane Gradient 2, Texture Layer -> Apply Gradient Map, Material -> Toon Ramp 2 and Medium -> Volume Gradient 2 nodes now set the DEFAULT for the gradient to 0-1
- Reverted the Export Frame command (octane.exportFrame command) to the export method that it used prior to 2023.1.2.197. The new export method was intended to fix the issue where the Mesh object transform would be exported, however it introduced other issues
- Added the "useOldExporter" option to the octane.exportFrame command. This uses the exporter from Octane 3 (and from release 2023.1.2.197 to 2023.1.2.199), which supports exporting the Object Transform animation track of mesh objects if Object Motion Blur is enabled.
- If the Modo Camera Project Type is Orthographic, then the Octane Viewport should now correctly match the Modo viewport. Remember to tick the Octane Camera->Orthographic property when doing this
This release will will also be the next "Prime" release packaged in the next Modo installer.
I don't anticipate there being any more Octane 2023.1 releases of the plugin. The next release will be for Octane 2024.
Thanks
Paul
