Yes, it would definitely make Octane less available. I don't really care how it's done that much - my first license payed for itself in three days, so either way when XSI version comes out i will buy it and push my employers to build a pipeline around it and buy more. I just hope it comes soon, can't wait to use itface wrote:And when you needn´t a plugin, you will pay for it...jamnique wrote:...So i guess i'd rather see the price of plugins included in the main app and "free" plugins, like the Maxwell Render ones.

This is due to the way that the current geometry engine in Octane works. It takes a long time to get the geometry over to the video card to start rendering. As I stated in the video, the new geometry engine (in the standalone and plug-in version) will allow this loading of the geometry happen much faster. This will address the issue that you are referring to.gais wrote:Could you give a bit more information on the rendering of animations with this plugin. What I'm missing is the ability to render animations, fast. Right now the stand alone version takes a few seconds to render, but almost a minute to convert each frame from Max to Octane. Rendering stills is fine, but animations with >500 frames are taking much too long to be usefull for our purpose (architectural visualisations). I need all the time I can get to do the design work, taking a few days for visuals is not an option.
