I created a Alembic file with the Blender Plugin, which I used in a scene. While I was working on the scene in Octane I noticed that I had the UV texture coordinates rotated on one of the objects. I went back to the plugin, rotated the UVs and then exported a new Alembic file. When I hit reload in Octane for the file the UVs did not get updated. I ended up quitting Octane and reloading the ocs file to get the UVs corrected. I'm sure that if I had deleted the node and reloaded the file it would have worked as well, but it was easier to just quit and restart Octane. Is this right? Or am I doing something wrong? Thanks,

Jason
The Alembic library we're using doesn't allow us to refresh the Alembic file once it's been loaded. (and Octane doesn't show a refresh button for Alembic scene nodes). The Alembic developers recommend creating a new file with a different file name. You can then load this new file into the existing scene node.

After you delete the scene graph node it's still in the undo buffer, so the Alembic file remains locked.

Ah, thanks Roeland, so this is a function of the Alembic workflow? In the Linux version there is a refresh button for Alembic nodes, hence my confusion. :)

A few older versions used to have a refresh button, but it has turned out it's not possible to refresh an Alembic file.

People who have been trying to use network rendering on OSX may have notices that the slave and daemon didn't work. The reason were a missing file and a linker bug in the slave. I rebuilt the OSX package which should fix this problem.
