Ok. Seems like we have different understanding then. I personally think that geting pure white tone out of render engine is not post-production.
Using external apps to correct engine's white balance is a workaround and it doesn't even work for all cases.
You want to be physically correct, right ? You have camera parameters like F-Stop, ISO etc.. and then suddenly you call WB post-production? Every decent camera has a WB setting.
Every decent render engine has WB in our days. No need to make a "Lightroom" kind of software.
