Hi Guys,

Below is the latest blender exporter kindly developed by yoyoz.
Hopefully it will let you see what the workflow from blender is like.
(I'd also just like to point out again that this is a community developed exporter, not a fully integrated plugin like the officially supported octanerender for 3ds max and octanerender for maya. And as such we don't officially provide support for it and it's provided as is.)

Cheers
Chris.
Post Plugin v1.19
This is a fix for the problem faced by Roubal during animation exports, and may not be required for people doing stills and/or not facing exact same issue as Roubal did, as you may have to adapt your workflow.

What has changed:
- the "Selection only" option is now ignored, you have to use one of the two others if you don't want to export all objects
- all layers are now exported, instead of only visible ones (this is required in order to have the fix working)
- the "Fly" animation button is back, exporting first frame and then only updating camera and sun for subsequent ones

Requirements should be same as for v1.17 (recent 2.63 builds).

Enjoy!

What is latest working version of Blender and its Octane plugin? I installed 1.1.9 on Blender 2.63 but it doesn't work.
Thank's for help!

Ok it works now - when I pressed F12 it dodn't wirk, but now when pressing: Render Still Image, it brings Octane window....

FooZe,

thanks so much for the link to the exporter! It's working fine (just had to remove the spaces in file names when setting the path).

Is there a script or way to have Blender send each frame of an animation to Octane to render to a set quality level, save the .jpg, and
load and render another frame, etc?

Would like to render a Blender animation in Octane.

Hi Megacal,

Yes, there should already be this option in the plugin:
blenderAnim.jpg
Thanks
Chris.

LOL! I see it now....right in front of me! =)

Today's the first time I've tried working with Blender & Octane, and am amazed at all the bells & whistles.
Just glad that Octane still works and still have access to the Online Materials.

I haven't kept up with Octane since I built this computer for it 12/2011....got off on other projects, e.g. Blender.
Was surprised to see that Otoy has it now. But looks like they are supporting the betas we bought last
year, and Terrance is still involved. I'll have to catch up on what's happened and is happening.

Even though I built it for Octane (didn't know I'd be using Blender with it at the time), it's also great for
my other apps, so am glad I did it when I could.

Several folks here helped me pick out the components and gave me advice....really appreciate it.
No problems so far.

Thanks again for the help. :)

HHMMM strange!

I have this option selected BUT when I choose Render Animation, Octane render pops up, renders the first frame, closes and does not `pop up`/open again to render the following frames :(
