Great.
We are all waiting for a tool like this.
Will the GearVR be supported as well?

Does the Gear VR have it's own sensors in it?
Right now I'm dealing with combining a bunch of phone-sensors to make it as accurate as it can be (for what the phone sensors are capable of). So I'm pretty sure that if you just put your phone in, it will work exactly like Google Cardboard. Except more professional/comfy ofcourse.
Importing the presentation and setting your options will be done on the touchscreen, then you will click 'launch' and put your phone in the headset. From there on I'm going to design a buttonless interface. It will work by just looking at certain stuff. Easy.
Here is a WIP pic of the Android app:

Ofcourse all critique is welcome, I know what I want, but I also want to know what you guys want!
I'm designing it from the ground up to fully support 4K, as there have been 4K phones announced already. Personally though I'd recommend a phone with 1920x1080 or higher.

Yes the Gear VR has own sensors build in. It is very exact and fluent. Would be great to have a Phantom app in the Samsung app store as well.

Alright guys, I'm going to bring the community in on the development from the start.
If you'd like to join in on the closed alpha, please PM or e-mail ([email protected]) me the address of the Google Account you are using on your Android device. That way I can add you to the list of testers. It will go through Google Play.
Don't expect much yet!
The first challenge is to support any possible resolution, get some basic sensor input working and make sure there is an on-screen image on any possible device.
I'm going to try and gradually push updates as I work on the software.

Sorry guys, still no Android build yet. I have a lot of stuff going on right now.
However!
I'm going to take Phantom VR beyond 'just' a VR viewer. What if you don't have VR goggles? I think it should still be able to make a great presentation.
That's why I'm going to take it to another direction that I originally thought: I'm going to make it do a lot more. Like Powerpoint, but specifically for architects/designers if you will.
Here is a PC prototype I made:
http://phantomtechnology.nl/vr/prototyp ... totype.zip
Use the left mouse button and mouse to look around.
Press the Escape button to exit the program.
No install required. Download, unzip to desktop and run it.
Lemme know what you think.

Looks good so far--I tested the Windows app. If it works the way that you describe, I'd definitely use it. Keep us posted please.

Cool. A hybrid way is a good choice. Like in KR Pano you can switch to VR mode and then you have the split screen version with sensor input.
