You need to ask to Nvidia about fixed Mac CUDA drivers, I guess.

Not an option for me because previous combinations of CUDA and Nvidia web drivers caused constant Kernel Panics and crashes to the login screen on my Mac. With the latest versions it's stable again so I won't downgrade.

Is there no there solution to be able to open my Octane files again, please?

Hi,
every High Sierra users are using CUDA 410.130 driver with no issues, probably there is something different that is blocking your mac with High Sierra.
Have you tried to install a fresh version of High Sierra, maybe on an external hdd, with 410.130 CUDA drivers, and the GPU driver version that you are using now?
Please go to Apple menu, About this Mac, then press the System Report button, then go to menu File/Save, and share the resulting .spx file with me via PM, thanks.

Thank you, much appreciated.

Since I had the GTX1080ti installed a year+ ago my Mac has had regular kernel panics. The company who installed it for me (Create Pro) could never figure out why it caused problems, so I just live with it. I only had it installed for GPU rendering. I have tried everything I could think of including new CPU trays, new RAM, new motherboard, fresh installs on different drives. But nothing has solved the KPs.

Recently I updated to the latest CUDA and Nvidia web drivers and it has been stable. Maybe coincidence? But I'm very reluctant to roll back the drivers.

I'll send the report you requested in a PM. Thanks again for replying.

Edit: I get "The requested users to be added do not exist." when I try to Pm you.

Please, roll back only the CUDA driver to 410.130.
418.xx versions of CUDA are not working with Octane.

I tried rolling back this weekend and got a kernel panic. Any other suggestions about how I can render my Octane scenes please? Thanks.

Also, why did I just pay the last two months for a program that not only doesn't work, but also has wasted several days of my time trying to fix it?

@ edwstoa:
the issue with Nvidia drivers has been solved roughly after one week, so probably you are having other issues, or have a wrong installation.
Please write to [email protected] explaining your issue in detail, to have a direct support.

@ rodsteele:
please do the same, we need to better investigate what is going on with your mac.

So I work on the Mac, too. My computer is a Mac Pro 2010 with two gtx 1070. my system is high Sierra with the security update 2019-002 nr 2 :-). Cuda driver is the 410.130 and web driver 387.10.10.10.40.124. I can work with it. There are no kernel panics. I once had a Titan x in my Mac, maxwell generation. And I had stability problems with it. I think it was the problem with the power supply. A 250 Watt card with only 225watt to operate does not work well. And results in system crashes. PCIe slot gives 75 watts and the two Mini pci power cables each only 75 watts. So I built in the two 1070 which need 150 wat per card which fits exactly. Pcie slot + cable equal to 150. I don't know your configuration but if you don't supply the 1080ti with enough power you will have crashes.

Thanks for this.

The card was installed by a third party company who also upgraded the CPUs and flashed the Mac from a 4,1 to 5,1.

How can I find out if the 1080ti is getting enough power, please? Before the 1080 was installed the Mac was completely stable, but since then the kernel panics have been regular. Really disruptive and annoying.

I have the card installed with a Powerlink adaptor.
