Hi there,
Sometimes I use a Foreground object with a mask texture to mask out certain areas at rendertime. This works perfectly in de Cinema native renderer, However, I can't seem to find a similar function in Octane. Is this at all possible? I've tried to convert the material to an Octane material, but that doesn't work.

Any suggestions are welcome!

Hi,
no, in Octane there is not a Foreground option like C4D.
A workaround is to create a plane that fits to the FOV of the camera, but it could be a bit tricky because of the DOF
Before that the Render Region option was available, I have used this trick a lot for cutting render times.

There is an option to turn any material into a "matte". Its a checkbox right above smooth. If you applied this to a plane or sphere, and then used the opacity channel to define which areas to cut out, this might work.
