It is about 75% the speed of a GTX 680. You need to think of it this way - instead of spending hundreds on a GPU, you rent one for ~$1 hour (including Octane, your PC, as well for that price). Once you are in the cloud - we can link many of these together for a final render, that is 10x faster, and only 10c for the price of that single dollar. We will tackling that in step 2, once we have users fully testing the current iteration.

I have one more question regrading the price.
So lets say i send the alembic file for a final offline cloud rendering. Can i choose how many GPUs i want to process that file? And is the cost for that rendering 1$ per GPU/hour too? So when i choose 10 GPUs it's 10$ per hour? Or is it still 1$?
I am bit confused by the above quoted post.

If you pay $100/hr - you would theoretically have 100x GPUs rendering an uploaded .orbx file at once - meaning a 1 hr render (on 1 GPU for $1) would then take 36 seconds - and you could do still 99 more renders in that same hour at this speed. Note that orbx packaging and the cloud rendering system described above requires Octane 1.5, which is nearing release soon.

Thanks for the answer! So as i understand this, it comes to 1 GPU for $1 and i can choose how many GPUs i want which multiplies the pricing per hour.

This is a message for the Octane cloud developers, and a very friendly one:
We keep asking When, and sometimes seems unfair as the technology and effort that takes ,to release something so
revolutionary and with the magnitude of the Octane Render cloud gotta be a tough task.
in the other side of the wire, We need it really bad , to accelerate our Production renders.
The problem is that Octane is so awesome, one can already test the alembic added to standalone 3.2 test release already !
I do have licenses for Vray, Indigo , mental Ray, Maxwell (not the 3.0 version yet)
But for some tasks ,the photographic camera look that Octane achieves and the elegance of the "camera like", controls are unbeatable,
but not everyone Have a Titan GPU raid.
In my case, like many others, I have dozens of Composites to render , and Octane is my render of choice so far.
I shot Green screens with my RED camera and need to have a fast and accurate render solution, like many of us.
Only Octane cloud is a Great hope, (and so many productions need that to happen), the release is generating all the anxiety,
because We're aware that is going to make CG Art and film take a revolutionary step for the common end user
like myself , it is a big deal, to know they could render "life of Pi"on a laptop , and this technology will be
available for the rest of us.
In short ,sorry if that is similar to a politician speech, and Thank you .
I hope that a friendly Octane cloud for standalone and plugins , leave the shelf successfully and soon enough.
