Hi guys,

sorry for not jumping into this earlier, but I was in the US for business purposes (meaning I was drunk shortly after meetings - a challenge in Utah).

As matej noticed, this is a known issue and it also affects Cycles, so it is not specific to the exporter. I've opened a bug some time ago, but nobody picked it up, letting our only hope into GSOC and a devoted student for fixing this behavior.

Cheers,
Lionel

No worries. I think that between us we managed to solve (work around) the problem. I suddenly got into a playing around with fluids phase which meant that the horrid spikies were cropping up a lot. My work around seems to work pretty well but it does mean that you have to convert the fluid into a live mesh.
