Dear Otoy
I'm sadly to say, but it is time to say goodbye to Octane.
And I'm really serious - it's a SAD goodbye, as I really like Octane, especially the node-way of doing things and the fast and nice renderings.
I've been a user since 2014, but still after all these years, I still can't use the plugin for Sketchup. It crashes Sketchup, the node editor is a mess, and it does not rememeber my node layout.
Maybe it's just impossible to create a stable node-based editor for Sketchup cause Sketchup is a unstable platform?
I have used the standalone version a couple of times, and I find it extremely solid and nice to use, but is complicates our workflow, needing to export from Sketchup to the standalone version.
(and not being able to lock the camera position is an big issue, at least for me )
So now we switch to Enscape for fast presentations and animations, and to Vray for high quality renders.
But I will sure keep an eye on Octane.....maybe one day.........
I know it's not a big loss for Otoy that I leave, but it is a big loss for me, as I think Octane has a huge potentiale.
I wish the development all the luck I can.
Kind regards
Jorgensen
