Octane preventing C4D from closing.

This is definitely related to the Octane plugin, because once I deactivate it in the list of plugins (S22) Cinema 4D quits as expected.

Have you deleted another cdl64 and xdl64 files from install package?Aleksei wrote:This is definitely related to the Octane plugin, because once I deactivate it in the list of plugins (S22) Cinema 4D quits as expected.

OMG, that was that?
Thank you. Forgot to delete the files after a regular update.

THANK YOU!!!
Someone mentioned custom layout causing crashing. I can confirm this is happening, Cinema 4D S24.037, Octane 2020.2.4 R2. Everything is fine until I add a custom palette with Octane icons, save as layout (does not have to be startup layout, just any layout name). Close Cinema, reopen and Octane crashes on startup. The fixes in this thread do not work for me.
I can prevent this from happening by deleting appdata/roaming/maxon..../R24 entire folder to get clean preferences and layout. However now I can't use custom palettes with Octane icons, which is a huge strain on productivity.
Help much appreciated, thanks

I have always some Octane windows+icons in startup layout. Even tried with custom layout with Octane stuff. It never happened to me. Send me your layout files and also make a report with the procedures as in picture.SolarB wrote:Someone mentioned custom layout causing crashing. Thanks for the reply, unfortunately Cinema4D crashes along with Octane and resets those tickboxes so I'm not sure I can save a comprehensive log file.
I've managed to work around the issue by deleting appdata/roaming/MAXON/Maxon Cinema 4D..../prefs/oct.dat and directorycache after a crash, which allows me to use a saved layout and scene file. This seems to work, but I think modifying the LV layout and saving as a default scene seems to trigger something.
