I have a scene that I've previously rendered out a tiff sequence from. This time, I'm switching the camera, but I'm also rendering as a tiff sequence. But this time, it's just not working at all. It will render one black frame, and then show an error message in the render queue and stop rendering.

Nothing has changed, or at least that I know of! I updated my CUDA drivers, and the problem persists.

I have a MacOS update lurking, but I refuse to update, as macOS High Sierra wasn't working with Octane on my machine in the first place - I had to get an external hard drive running MacOS Sierra.

Anyways, I hope that made sense. Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks

Hi maviseverett,
please, go to c4d menu Script/Console (Shift+F10), and share the log output.
It seems an issue with not enough VRAM.
Did you increase the resolution?
To save a bit of VRAM, you can reduce the Parallel sampling value in the Kernel setting, or enable the Out-of-core options, to move all the textures to system RAM.

Note that the issues with High Sierra have been solved with 10.13.2, and the conresponding updated CUDA and GPU graphics drivers:
CUDA Mac 387.99
MACOS DRIVER RELEASE 378.10.10.10.25.102

Here is the log output: https://i.imgur.com/GdYtAns.png

I haven’t increased the resolution since the last render! I just reduced the Parallel sampling value from 8 to 4, and the Out-of-core options were already enabled. The RAM usage limit is 4GB.

And also the issue with High Sierra seems to persist with me, I just tried to run Octane on it and it still wasn’t working even with a fully updated OS and CUDA driver.

Anyways yeah, it's still not working.

Hi maviseverett,
you have only 1.3GB of free VRAM, so you have not much space to work. Try to reduce the Parallel sampling to 1, or try to reduce the subdivision of some geometry objects.
Maybe you have disabled the Render instance option for some clones or instances, and the poly count grows up too much.
About High Sierra, did you update also the GPU graphics drivers?
