I'm kinda baffled this is still a problem in 2025. I have a rather simple scene with a character and a native C4D hair setup. I change the motion blur settings to transform/vertex on the hairs since it doesn't work at all with the normal transform mode. So far so good, it looks good and renders smoothly. BUT: it increases the rneder time each frame significantly... see the attached screenshot.
I can live with the higher render time due to the MB because the looks justify it, but adding 30 seconds per frame is just a joke and not feasable for this project.
Is there anything I can do to prevent this?
I also include my render settings. I usually max out parallel samples and us max tile sample of 16, but this triples the render times... god knows why. It all fits in the VRAM. Network render is on as well with one node connected.

Thanks for any help.
Edit: Can't upload a different screenshot, not even in a new post... it only displays the one already uploaded.
